I watched Death of Stalin last week after many recommendations. I have decades of professional experience studying the history of Cold War Russia. This movie encapsulated the bizarre personalities that formed one of the most ruthless regimes ever to rule people on this earth.
Hitler rightly gets top billing for his lack of feeling for whole groups of his own citizens, but Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot, and all of their henchmen, are not given their due. The Communists were every bit as bad as the National Socialists. This movie clearly showed the bizarre underpinnings of a very sick system.
