Starting something audacious is terrifying - especially when you have responsibilities, rent to pay, or mouths to feed. We believe innovation requires freedom: the freedom to tinker, to fail, and to learn fast.
All Fellows receive $100,000 to pursue their projects for the year. All Grantees receive at least $10,000. Either way, you retain 100% ownership of your work.

O’Shaughnessy Fellows and Grantees come from nearly every place and domain imaginable.
Over the past three years, we’ve scoured over 160 countries to find and fund over 75 extraordinary individuals.
They are creating synthetic cells, reconstructing dreams in 3D, saving dying languages, building homes for homeless children, researching biological machinery to stop aging, making sci-fi films, designing novel roses that don’t exist in nature, launching the New Yorker for the Spanish speaking world, building anti-recording devices, creating global #1 viral songs, building mechanical hands for amputees, storing data in plants and numerous other scientific, artistic, and technological projects.
And that’s just scratching the surface.
This year alone, we’ve already received hundreds of applications from dreamers all around the world.
What You Need to Know
One application. Two opportunities.
All Fellowship applicants are automatically considered for Grants. There’s no separate application. In 2026, we will award ten $100k Fellowships and up to twenty Grants of at least $10k.
Equity-free.
You keep 100% ownership. We want to support your work, not own it.
Application timeline
Applications opened January 1, 2026 and close April 30, 2026. After you submit the application form, we'll review on a rolling basis - so the earlier you apply, the sooner you hear back. Most applicants get an update within 30 days.
Global and inclusive
Anyone can apply, from anywhere in the world. Last year, our youngest applicant was thirteen years old.
Fully remote
No relocation required.
